In the ongoing BWF World Tour Finals in Guangzhou, China's top player in men's singles, Shi Yuqi, edged past Indonesia's Anthony Ginting in straight games for his second win in Group A.
Shi won his first Super Series title at the French Open on October 30, 2016. Since then, the young star has proved that he is one of the top players in the world. Shi was dominant from the beginning. A backhand drop shot helped the Chinese win the first game 21-8 with great ease.
The world No. 2 continued his good form in the second game and won a rally with a beautiful smash for a 16-15 lead en route to winning the game 21-19.

In women's doubles, China's Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan faced Indonesia's Greysia Polii and Apriyani Rahayu. Unlike the other four categories, there are no clear favorites in women's doubles this year. A backhand drop shot helped the Chinese pair win the first game 21-14.
Chen and Jia, who had earlier found form mid-season by winning gold at the Asian Games and the runner-up spots in Malaysia and Japan, were hoping to rediscover the form that carried them to the season finale trophy in Dubai two years ago.
Playing in front of their home fans, the Chinese duo, who had a 2-2 record against Polii and Rahayu, eventually got the better of their Indonesian rivals and pocketed the match after claiming the second game 21-8.
