Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Brunei's Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah in Beijing on Friday. Xi said China will align its Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) with Brunei's Wawasan 2035. Xi called for further collaboration between the two sides in fields such as trade and investment, agriculture and fishery. The Brunei sultan praised Xi's speech at the opening ceremony of the BRF, saying it had pointed out the direction for the development of the Asia Pacific region and the whole world.
