Poverty affects every country to varying degrees. However, it's an especially dire problem in Asia, which the World Bank estimates is home to over 40 percent of what is classified as "extremely poor" people. Many experts believe that better education structures are needed to reverse the situation there, but, according to Hossain Zillur Rahman, executive chairman of the Power and Participation Research Center in the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka, many Asian countries don't recognize its true value.
