US President Donald Trump said he is expecting a visiting delegation from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to deliver a letter to him from its leader Kim Jong Un and that talks with the DPRK in New York have been very positive.
"I look forward to seeing what's in the letter," Trump said as he left Joint Base Andrews for a trip to Houston. Asked if a deal was taking shape, he said, "I think it will be very positive. ... The meetings have been very positive."

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Kim Yong Chol, a senior official of the DPRK, entered a second day of meetings on Thursday in New York on the latter’s denuclearization and preparation for a historic summit between their leaders.
Kim Yong Chol, vice chairman of the ruling Workers' Party of Korea Central Committee, is the highest-ranking DPRK official to visit the US since 2000.
He and Pompeo shook hands shortly after 9:00 a.m. (1300 GMT) and began their talks over breakfast, with four people on each side, reported AFP.
The two left a 90-minute private dinner Wednesday night without providing details about their conversation.
