China's Ministry of Education and National Health Commission has announced targeted measures for poverty alleviation, striving to improve education and medical care in poverty-stricken areas. An inspection group dispatched by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China conducted a special poverty alleviation inspection tour last year. The National Health Commission also plans to subsidize health care in central China's poor counties.
