The Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee reviewed a document on identifying, training and selecting outstanding young officials to meet the requirements of the new era, at a meeting on Friday.
The meeting was presided over by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee.
The meeting emphasized that the training and selection of outstanding young officials is a basic project to strengthen the building of leading bodies, and is a strategic task that concerns the success of the Party's cause and the long-term stability of the country.
At present, socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era, the meeting pointed out. The Party has united and led the people in carrying out great struggles, building great projects, advancing great undertakings, and realizing great dreams. The key lies in building an echelon of high-quality professional officials, it was noted by the committee.
The new era and new mission require us to earnestly enhance our sense of responsibility and urgency. With a longer-term perspective and more effective measures, we will continuously select and use outstanding young officials who meet the requirements of the new era, and inject new vitality into the development of the Party and the country, said the meeting.
