The US has held three public hearings to consider imposing tariffs on Chinese products since it started the trade war with China. Yi Bo, the associate professor at the Southeast University, participated in all of the three hearings. Over 90 percent of the representatives of the third hearing rejected the tariff hikes. However, the US continued to impose additional tariffs on 200 billion dollars of Chinese goods. Yi said the US government had already made its decision to impose tariffs before the hearings.
