The eighth Beijing Xiangshan Forum, which focuses on security and defense, is underway in the Chinese capital. More than 500 representatives from some 70 countries are attending the meeting. Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a congratulatory letter, saying the forum has played a positive role in promoting security dialogue, mutual trust and cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region.
