Hongze Lake is one of China’s five largest freshwater lakes, and the wetland takes an area of about 24,000 hectares. It shelters a variety of species, including 194 kinds of birds, 67 types of fish and many other creatures and plants.
It is also one of the best areas for the migrant birds to spend the winter. Every year, about 200 types of birds would come here during their annual migration.
