The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has issued a travel warning recently to Chinese citizens both traveling domestically and internationally , which includes wading activities, traffic risks, field and aerial activities and the risk of theft.
Due to the fact that two tourist boats capsized off southern Thailand's Phuket Island last Thursday evening, this breaking news has greatly aroused the concern of the public. Till now, the accidnets have killed 42 people and 14 people are still missing with the rescue still ongoing.
According to a report released by China Tourism Research Institute and Ctrip tour group, the number of China's outbound tourism in 2017 reached 1.3 billion, showing that Chinese tourists have gradually led the numbers in outbound tourism in recent years.
In addition, the report revealed that many foreign countries including Thailand, Japan, ROK and Vietnam have attracted the most Chinese tourists. It is said that Chinese tourists account for up to 30 percent of international tourists in these countries. Based on this, the travel tips are useful for Chinese tourists before planning a trip to foreign countries.
As for overseas independent trips, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China stressed the significance of checking online travel companies, agencies and platforms and their travel products, stating that those unqualified must be taken down, while tourists should demand tips from the agencies for high-risk travel plans.
Nowadays, with the rapid growth of China's economy and the increase of the national income level, more and more Chinese citizens are going abroad to experience exotic customs. Under such circumstances, Chinese travelers, especially for self-help travelers should greatly enhance their awareness of risk prevention and travel safety.
