"China: World of Wonders" is a new virtual reality series focusing on 10 tourist destinations in the country. It was released as part of CGTN's coverage of the Two Sessions, one of China's most important annual political events held in Beijing.

In this episode, we'll be visiting the Kumtag Desert in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Like all deserts, the temperature here varies from freezing at night to baking during the day. But unlike other deserts that are mostly bare in China, experts have discovered two grand canyons with grotesque rocks and flowing rivers in the southwest of the desert, which is indeed a natural wonder.
