The current Russian policy towards the DPRK is characterized by a high-degree pragmatism. In 2013, Russia approved a new foreign policy, aiming to maintain friendly relations with the DPRK and the Republic of Korea (ROK). Experts say economic cooperation includes areas such as trade, joint projects, labor migration and humanitarian assistance.
