In South Korea, a ruling is expected today in the corruption trial of Samsung leader Lee Jae-yong. Prosecutors are calling for a 12 year prison sentence for him. Experts say defense attorneys will appeal a guilty verdict, and that it would go to the nation's Supreme Court with a final ruling probably out next year. 49-year old Lee was arrested in February on charges that he bribed ousted president Park Geun-hye to help secure financial control of a Samsung conglomerate. In addition to corruption, Lee also faces charges of embezzlement and perjury. Investors worry a guilty verdict could drastically impact Samsung's stock value. The company suffered financial troubles last year after reports of its Galaxy Note 7 phones catching fire and exploding.
