Lyu Xiang is an expert in American Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. In the past 20 years, he often traveled to the U.S. for academic purposes. In 2015, he got a 10-year U.S. visa for multiple entries. Last September, he was intercepted by two FBI agents in the U.S. and received notice 15 days that his ten-year visa was being revoked, citing no reasons. Lyu thinks the FBI’s spying charges are ridiculous. "To be frank, the U.S. political system is a mess now."
