A second powerful storm has lashed Hong Kong and Macao. Typhoon Pakhar comes just days after typhoon Hato swept through southern China. Both cities raised a Typhoon-8 signal, the third-highest warning level on early Sunday morning as the severe tropical storm made landfall in the region. Emergency workers were still battling to repair Wednesday's damage from Hato. Traffic in Hong Kong has been severely affected. Summer is typhoon season for Hong Kong, which can experience storms of such severity that the entire city shuts down.
