34 people killed in Uganda mudslides

At least 34 people were killed in mudslides triggered by heavy rains in Bududa, Uganda, the Uganda Red Cross said on Friday.
Many houses were also destroyed in the disaster.

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on Thursday night urged residents in the affected areas to cooperate with authorities to avoid danger.

Meanwhile, the Ugandan government has dispatched relief supplies including food, blankets, tents and tarpaulins to the affected people.
The death toll is expected rise as some people are still missing, Uganda Red Cross spokeswoman Irene Nakasiita said.
