Proteas pulverize Pakistan with 3-0 whitewash in test series

The South African cricket team steamrolled over Pakistan with 107 runs in the third and the final Test to win the three-match series with a 3-0 clean sweep on Monday.
Chasing a whopping target of 381 runs in the second innings at the Wanderers in Johannesburg, the visiting Pakistani side was bundled out for just 273 runs, thanks to some fiery bowling by Proteas bowling spearhead Kagiso Rabada. 
Earlier, after winning the toss and electing to bat first, the South Africans were all out for 262 runs in the first innings on the opening day. In reply, Pakistan faced a batting a batting collapse and were bowled out for 185 runs.

Wicket-keeper-batsman Quinton de Kock's smashing 129 and Hashim Amla's 71 helped the home side pile up 303 runs in the second innings of the relatively low-scoring match. Chasing the competitive target, Pakistan batsmen made decent starts but faltered when it mattered the most. 
Their batsmen perished at crucial junctures as they failed to carry forward their solid starts to a big score. Only Asad Shafiq could reach his half-century in the innings while Shadab Khan remained unbeaten on 47 as their side went past 200-run mark in an innings only for the second time in the entire series.

South African speedsters Duanne Olivier, who took 5 wickets in the first innings, and Rabada bagged three wickets apiece to script the victory as well as a thumping 3-0 whitewash for the hosts. 
De Kock, for his elegant century, was awarded the Man of the Match while Olivier was named the Player of the Series for consistent wicket-picking performance.
