Beijing's Goethe-Institut celebrates 30th anniversary

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Goethe-Institut in China. To celebrate, Beijing's Goethe-Institut is hosting a 30-hour, non-stop multifaceted event at its flagship 798 location over the weekend.
A true celebration of culture, representing the openness and broadness of cultural activities that have made the Goethe-Institut China a cultural landmark for 30 years.
The celebration includes concerts, performances, installations, film screenings and a lecture series in the institute located in Beijing's "798" art district.
German Ambassador to China, Dr. Clemens Von Goetze present at the event and said, "For exchanges, we need a platform, and Goethe-Institut is the platform that contributes to Sino-German exchange. Not only for the past 30 years, but also for the next three decades. Located in this artistic '798' district, it is a place where China and Germany can seek further cooperation, and tonight is the new starting point for the future."

Through one of its events, "30 years, 30 questions, 30 hours," Goethe-Institut China will reflect on its past, asking questions about their work.
As an organization devoted to strengthening the cultural ties between China and Germany, Goethe-Institut China organizes a broad spectrum of cultural events to present German culture abroad and facilitate intercultural exchanges.
The Goethe-Institut China was established in 1988, it was the first foreign cultural center in China.
From the beginning, it devoted itself to promoting the German language, providing access to knowledge and information about Germany, and to cooperating with Chinese partners in various cultural fields such as music, dance, theater, film, visual arts, and architecture.
