An emperor penguin laid its first egg, but it unfortunately fell on the ice. Female emperor penguins lay only a single egg per year, which the male then incubates by putting it on its feet and covering it with a fold of skin. Other penguins scrambled to help, with an experienced penguin "dad" succeeding in placing the egg back in a warm place.
