Wang Chen, vice chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), reviewed the role of the NPC and its Standing Committee in promoting the cross-Strait relations at a gathering to commemorate the 40th anniversary of issuing the "Message to Compatriots in Taiwan."
