Broadway Classic 'Chicago' plays in Beijing

Chicago, the winner of Tony Award for Best Musical, is coming to China in 2018. The classic-hit musical "Chicago" will be performing at Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center from November 1 to November 18. It will also tour to Xiamen, Guangzhou and Shanghai.
"Chicago" had 40 years history from the first time it appeared on Broadway in 1975, and won six awards including the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical, and has performed continuously since the rehash in 1996. It has become the longest staging musical on Broadway now, and the film version won 13 Oscar nominations and six awards.

The production company of this tour version of "Chicago" has produced the popular musical "Cat" (global tour version) and "The sound of music" (Asian tour version).
"We have chosen the suitable actors for this Chinese tour," said David Ian, the producer of "Chicago." They have toured at New Zealand for more than half a year before coming to China," Ian added.
