Shanghai SIPG shared the two points with Kawasaki Frontale by Hulk's brace in the AFC Champions League Group Stage Round 5 match at the Kawasaki Todoroki Stadium on Tuesday.
Just six minutes from the start, SIPG's Brazilian captain launched a long-distance attack and easily won the one-on-one duel with Kawasaki's goalkeeper.
But seven minutes later, Hulk's compatriot Leandro Damiao, the London Olympic Games top scorer, slotted the ball home for Japan side in the penalty zone's chaos.
In the second half, Shogo Taniguchi sent the cross into the net by head at the 66th minute, while Hulk returned a similar goal to stop the scores at 2-2 five minutes later.
It was the third consecutive draw for SIPG in the AFC Champions League. For the whole five matches this season, the Chinese Super League reigning champions just won a single one, and that was against the same rivals at home.

On Wednesday, Group E's bellwether Shandong Luneng will meet South Korea's Gyeongnam FC at home, and Guangzhou Evergrande are in Japan to face Group F's top team Sanfrecce Hiroshima.
