Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Le Yucheng has summoned the U.S. ambassador to China, Terry Branstad, to lodge an official protest against the detention of Meng Wanshou, chief finance officer of the Chinese telecom giant, Huawei. Le urged the U.S. to immediately withdraw the arrest warrant for Meng, and warned that China will act accordingly. This comes a day after China summoned the Canadian ambassador to make similar protests.
