Changchun Yatai drew with Shanghai Shenhua 1-1 on their home turf in the 16th round of the Chinese Super League (CSL) 2018 season on Saturday.
The visitors broke the deadlock in the 31st minute when midfielder Cao Yunding fired home a curling shot after receiving a long pass from Oscar Romero.

An equalizer came for Changchun Yatai in the 70th minute. Polish veteran playmaker Adrian Mierzejewski's free-kick found Nemanja Pejcinovic in the penalty area, and the Serbian's assist helped Nigerian marksman Odion Ighalo find the net with a close-range volley.
The intensity of the match climaxed when Shenhua midfielder Sun Shilin's foul earned him a red card in the 82nd minute.
Changchun Yatai climbed to the 10th place of the league table after the tie, pulling away from possible relegation.
