Ahead of the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) scheduled for Sept. 3 and 4, CGTN produced a special six-episode series entitled "Hi China!" The program invited four guests from Africa to take an in-depth look at China. They were divided into two teams and sent to six locations, where they experienced firsthand some of the country's traditions, vitality and innovation.
In the third episode, Sibu and Tariro visited a small village in Jixi in east China's Anhui Province. People there have kept their traditions for thousands of years, living a country life distinct from those in the cities. Meanwhile, Asi and Makki went to Huaxi Village, also in east China, which has thrived to become one of China's most developed villages thanks to modernization and industrialization. What's it like living there? How did they grow their agriculture and make a fortune? Discover the full story in the video above.
The series aired daily on CGTN from August 27 to September 1 at 15:30-16:00 GMT (23:30-00:00 BJT). You can also watch the full episodes on CGTN's APP and YouTube accounts.
