According to an investigation, the local government of the Philippines found that Boracay has illegal constructions and lacks sewage treatment equipment across the whole island.
In order to improve the Philippines’ main tourist location and achieve its sustainable development goal, the government closed Boracay for six-months' worth of repairs on April 26.
As of now, the island has been getting repaired for more than two months. See how it is today with CGTN.
