A new observation tower has opened in a Danish forest. The Forest Tower, a world first, and five years in the making, is a 600-ton hourglass structure which rises 22 meters (72 feet) above the treetops. A spiral staircase made from oak and steel takes people to the top. For architect Tue Hesselberg Foged from Effect, the intention was to bring people closer to nature. More than 100,000 visitors are expected at the Forest Tower this year.
