President of UNEA Siim Kiisler calls for delegates to observe a minute of silence in memory of those killed in Sunday's Ethiopian Airlines plane crash, during the opening of the fourth session of the UN Environment Assembly in Nairobi. Early investigations indicate that 19 employees of UN-affiliated organizations died in the crash. Some of them should have participated in UNEA in Nairobi on Monday. The UN flag at the conference venue was lowered. On Sunday, all 157 people taking Ethiopian Airlines Flight ET 302 were killed when it crashed minutes after takeoff from Addis Ababa to Nairobi.
