Staff at a southwest China nature reserve recently took extra care of a giant panda after they stumbled upon the bear and found him to be under the weather.
The male bear, which was about 10 years old, was found by staff members last week at the Fengtongzhai National Nature Reserve, southwest China's Sichuan Province.
It seemed to be looking for food but moved abnormally slowly.

The staff realized that the panda was not sound and healthy like it used to be, so they decided to step in.
"All the while he was walking down very slowly from a higher ground, which got our attention. Normally giant pandas are agile," says Zhang Xianling, a member of the patrol team at the reserve.
The rangers then reported the situation to the management department at the reserve which arranged special care for the panda.
"He was a bit weak when we found him, so we decided to help. We put food around for him to eat," says Li Wanhong, director of the preservation department at the reserve.

The reserve staff named the panda "Cai Qing." After receiving care for two days from the team, the bear regained strength and returned to its normal life in the wild.
