The Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) on Saturday announced the launch of a preliminary ruling on the anti-dumping investigation against hydroiodic acid products imported from the United States and Japan.
MOFCOM preliminarily ruled that there was dumping of hydroiodic acid products imported from the US and Japan, which damaged the domestic hydroiodic acid industry. And there was a causal relationship between the dumping and the substantive damage.
MOFCOM decided to launch provisional anti-dumping measures in the form of cash deposits. According to the ruling, the import operators should pay relevant cash deposits to Customs of the People's Republic of China according to the dumping margins (41.1-118.8 percent) decided by this ruling when importing hydroiodic acid products originating in the US and Japan since June 23, 2018.
