The first China International Import Expo (CIIE) will be held in Shanghai from November 5 to 10. The Expo is part of China's continuing measures of opening-up in support of free trade and economic globalization.

The theme of this year's inaugural expo is “New Era, Shared Future.” The Expo consists of the Country Pavilion, Enterprise and Business Exhibition, and the Hongqiao International Trade Forum. The Enterprise and Business Exhibition consists of seven pavilions, including such sectors as smart equipment, consumer electronics and appliances, culture and education.

The Hongqiao International Economic and Trade Forum, which includes an opening ceremony and three parallel forums, will focus on China's opening-up, innovation and investment.

The Expo will also hold around 300 on-site supporting events. Companies from over 130 countries and regions will participate in the expo, and 150,000 professional buyers are expected to attend.
