With the first China International Import Expo (CIIE) just around the corner, both Chinese buyers and global sellers are eager to make deals in Shanghai. But what imported goods do Chinese consumers buy most?

While Wendy from Sichuan University of Media and Communications and Nara Zhou, a MBA graduate in the UK say most girls love to buy imported cosmetics products.
Yi Qian is the deputy general manager of Tmall Global, one of the largest e-commerce platforms in China. According to their latest data, Chinese consumers buy most imported goods from Japan, South Korea, America and Australia. 
In terms of products, the top three imported products are maternal and infant products, cosmetics as well as health products.

Soura, an African trader said that African agricultural products and raw materials are also gaining popularity in China.  
When asked whether all the imported goods are better than the domestic brands, most of the respondents said it depends.
China says it will continue opening up its market and plans to import products and services to the tune of over 10 trillion US dollars in the next five years.
