At least 21 people were killed after a passenger bus collided with a trailer carrying inflammable material in Isfahan, central Iran on Tuesday, according to local news agency.
The passenger bus was heading from Tehran to Kerman city in the southern part of the country, when the accident took place in the early hours of Tuesday morning, Javad Dorostkar from Isfahan police office told ISNA news agency.
A report by state TV said the accident happened on the road linking the cities of Kashan and Natanz, about some 250 kilometers (156 miles), southeast of the capital Tehran.
Nineteen passengers of the bus were killed on the spot, and two others died later in the hospital, said Dorostkar.
An accident survivor said it was about 11:00 to 12:00 at night when the crash happened, and the bus overturned, while the flames started from the bus's front and diesel from the tanker was pouring in the bus.
The passengers were seated in the back of the bus, and they were managed to escape through a small opening on it, according to the survivor.
