Xi's state visit to Argentina started shortly after the conclusion of the 13th summit of the Group of 20 (G20) held in this country.
Following the ceremony, the two sides are expected to issue a joint statement and sign a joint action plan between the two governments, as well as a number of cooperation agreements.
Argentina is the second leg of Xi's ongoing Europe and Latin America trip from November 27 to December 5, which had taken him to Spain and also includes state visits to Panama and Portugal.
