Foreign Minister of Senegal Sidiki Kaba has arrived in China for an official visit on the invitation of Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
Wang met with Kaba in Beijing on Wednesday. Wang said China highly values its relationship with African countries, adding that Africa was the first destination of Xi Jinping's trip as Chinese President in 2013.
Wang said President Xi would pay another visit to the continent next month to attend the BRICS summit, and that Senegal will be his first stop. Meanwhile, Beijing will host a forum on China-Africa cooperation in September, where the presidents of the two countries will meet for the second time.

"We are meeting twice in a short time. We believe this will provide a strong impetus for the development of our relations," Wang said.
Wang said he would have in-depth exchanges of views with Kaba to better prepare for President Xi’s visit to Senegal.
China and Senegal upgraded their bilateral ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2016. China has invested in the African country in such fields as telecommunications, agriculture, energy, transportation and other infrastructure projects.
