Four passersby buried inside a cave-in on a sidewalk in Dazhou City, southwest China's Sichuan Province on Sunday, were all confirmed dead, ECNS reported Wednesday.
At around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, the pavement in front of Dazhou Jimin Hospital, Dachuan District, suddenly collapsed. Video clips showed four people falling into the hole, covering an area of 10 square meters.
Two of them were found on Monday. One is a woman, who was found at about 10 minutes after midnight and died on the way to hospital, and the other is a man, who was found at 9:36 a.m. on Monday and died in hospital.
It's said that the two were married last Thursday.
By 3:50 p.m. on Tuesday, the other two were pulled out and confirmed dead, according to a notice issued by the Publicity Department of Dachuan District on Wednesday.
More than 400 rescue workers used 100 more machinery and equipment to take part in the rescue operation.
So far, experts have searched historical materials and carried out investigations into the collapsed site.
