Bali is resuming the Ubud Food Festival aimed at promoting local food and attracting foreign tourists interested in the Indonesian resort island's gourmet.
Given the success of the first festival last year, Indonesia Tourism Ministry is holding the three-day event from April 26 to April 28 with a theme of "Spice up the World."
"Through this festival, Indonesia would extensively promote varieties of spice-rich national culinary which would attract foreign tourists interested in spicy foods," Indonesia Tourism Minister Arief Yahya said.
He added that the culinary arts are a tourist attraction to lure foreign tourists who are eager to taste foods from the other parts of the world.
Ubud, which last year attracted some 15,000 domestic and foreign tourists, is said to have had a positive impact on tourism on the island.
