One special arrangement at the International Horticulture Expo in Beijing is the 34 domestic gardens, representing diverse lifestyles in different regions across China. Today, CGTN reporter guides you through the garden of central China's Hunan Province, showcasing its ancient-style landscape dating back to more than two thousand years ago.
The dance entertainment at the entrance manages to capture your attention. But the gate made with rocks from local mountains gives us a sense of mystery. You never know what's inside until you walk through it.

Passing the tunnel, a utopian-style garden with lake view is in front of you. The whole design is based on a scenic spot named "the Peach Garden" or Taohuayuan located in Changde city of Hunan Province, originated from a well-known poetry work in ancient China, depicting a fairy-tale garden just like this.
The four-man-show here restores the real scene of the specific four different activities in its folk culture: fishing, cutting firewood, reading and farming. Along with the superb performances, you could also make your own Leicha, a special kind of local soup made with peanuts, ginger, and tea leaves. And don't forget to appreciate the local plants such as the peach blossom, which will grow to its full length very soon.

As for why exhibitors in Hunan have chosen the peach garden to represent the province, designer of the garden told CGTN this is precisely the poetic lifestyle people in Hunan are seeking for, which matches well with the theme "live green, live better" of the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Expo.
