The International Paralympic Committee has announced the event locations and athlete quotas for the 2022 Beijing Winter Paralympics, which is set to be the biggest in the history of Paralympic sports.
A total of 748 athletes are expected to compete for 82 gold medals, two more than that of the previous edition in PyeongChang, S. Korea, last year.
The 78 events will be split into men's and women's categories, and there will also be four mixed sports. For the first time, there will be an equal amount of events for both genders.

Yang Jinkui, the director of the Beijing 2022 Integration Department, said, “This decision makes the number of men's and women's events more balanced, as it provides more opportunities for female athletes, which also shows the development of the Paralympics, so we will make the full use of existing venues to add more events, and to run a cost-effective Games.”
Beijing will become the first and only city in the world to play host to both the Summer and Winter Olympics and Paralympics in three years' time.
