Six years after lighting up Madison Square Garden, Jeremy Lin, who recently joined the Atlanta Hawks from the Brooklyn Nets, told Tencent Sports, he wants to be remembered for more than his "Linsanity" moment.
Thirty-year-old Lin has gone through a lot – from being the Asian-American player who impressed NBA fans to trying to recover from continuous injuries. The last time he stepped on the court was his first game for the Nets in 2017-18 season – a game that also cost him the rest of the season, due to injury.
“During the recovery, I have learned more about my body and enriched my knowledge about basketball. I cannot give up (on basketball),” said Lin.

The rehab is not over for Lin who said that, though his knee and ligament have recovered well, he will not play his first game until late October when he can be 100 percent healthy.
When asked about the difference between being 22 years old and being 30, Lin replied “too many differences. I could not even compare the two stages. Now I know exactly what my goal is and I’m satisfied with what I have.”
After his astonishing performances with the Knicks, Lin became synonymous with the nickname: Linsanity. Though he used to dislike the moniker, Lin said his stance on the name has changed.

“Now I don’t hate it anymore. I still keep hearing people say it and that means I have not become better than ‘Linsanity’. I hope when I retire, they will remember me as someone more than Linsanity.”
