Reporter's Vlog: Secrets of raising a question at the Two Sessions
Wang Hui has been covering economic and political stories for CGTN for nine years. At this year's Two Sessions, she was present at the press conference held by the country's Ministry of Commerce. The ministry has been under the spotlight since the trade dispute between China and the U.S. began in March last year.
Among hundreds of journalists in attendance, Wang was picked to raise a question at the presser.
Despite the trade spat, China's foreign trade set a record high last year, reaching 30 trillion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 9.7 percent. She chose to ask the Chinese Commerce Minister Zhong Shan about his assessment of China's trade performance in 2018, and his expectations for its foreign trade in 2019 in light of the ongoing U.S.-China trade frictions.
Wang shared her experience with seizing opportunities to ask questions at official news conferences as we followed her for the day.
