Colorful Ningxia: Red goji berries, purple grapes and golden rice paddies. Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region is a major wolfberry plantation in China, with an annual production of 180,000 tonnes. Ningxia is also the largest region for grape cultivation in China. There are 40,600 hectares of vineyards, 86 percent of which are for winemaking. Paddy fields in the region are not only for rice production but are used for intricate art pieces, which attract roughly 200,000 visitors every year.
