Two satellites launch for scientific experiments in China

Two Tianhui II-01 satellites have been successfully sent into the sun-synchronous orbit (SSO) on Tuesday via the Long March 4B carrier rocket from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in north China's Shanxi Province.

Liftoff occurred at 6:52 a.m. Beijing time, the three-stage liquid-propellant carrier rocket has for the first time equipped with a fairing and an adapter both with a diameter of 3.35 meters, to meet the demand of sending two satellites into required orbits.

The satellites will be used for scientific experiments, land resource survey, geographic survey and mapping. 

Today's launch marked the 303rd mission of the Long March series carrier rockets.
