The sister of Thailand's king has joined the race to become prime minister. Princess Ubolratana was nominated by a populist party loyal to ousted Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. His opponents have been blamed for stirring chaos and launching two military coups. But the princess' brother, King Maha Vajira-longkorn, says his elder sister is still a member of the royal family, and it is "inappropriate" for her to be involved in politics.
