Tianjin Quanjian set for second leg with Kashima

Tianjin Quanjian hopes to overturn a 2-nil, last eight, first leg defeat when they host Japan's Kashima Antlers in the second leg on Tuesday night.

However, they will have to do it away from home, with the World Economic Forum taking place in their city. They instead are in Macao where it hasn't been plain sailing either. Because of the recent typhoon, all outdoor facilities were shut over the weekend.

The team were previously training at the gym in their hotel, but yesterday, they were able to prepare at an outdoor pitch after the harsh weather passed.

This is the CSL side's first time playing in the competition, and they have remained unbeaten at home. Key man Alexandre Pato missed the first leg due to stomach flu, but is available for the clash which kicks off later Tuesday.

Both Kashima and Tianjin stood on the verge of reaching the AFC Champions League semi-finals for the first time in their respective histories.

In their first leg clash, the Japanese side beat Tianjin 2-0. The game was goalless as the hour mark approached, then some hesitant defending and a clever nod-down from Yasushi Endo allowed Leo Silva to thrash the ball into the net to give the home side the lead.

Twelve minutes later, Kashima doubled their advantage.

Leo Silva's fellow Brazilian Serginho let fly from distance and his rasping effort beat Tianjin goalkeeper Zhang Lu to make it 2-0.
