Eurasian Lynx failed hunting attempt, continues search

A Eurasian Lynx was seen walking slowly toward the top of the Altun Mountain in northwest China after a failed hunting attempt. When it was close to the mountain top, the lynx suddenly turned around with its mouth wide open. It kept the pose for more than 10 seconds as if showing that it would continue its search for prey.
The lynx, with signature tufts of black hair on the ear tips, looks like a cat but in a larger size. This distinctive hair helps it detect the direction of sounds made by the prey from the wind, which makes it a quick-eared predator.
