Former Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo in an interview with France Football has suggested that a shift in his relationship with the club's president, Florentino Pérez, prompted him to leave  the Santiago Bernabeu.
"I felt it inside the club, especially from the president, that they no longer considered me the same way that they did in the start. In the first four or five years there I had the feeling of being 'Cristiano Ronaldo'. Less afterward, the president looked at me through the eyes that didn't want to say the same thing, as if I was no longer indispensable to them, if you know what I mean," said the soccer superstar.

Ronaldo left Manchester United to join Real Madrid in 2009 summer for a whopping 106-million-US-dollar deal, becoming the highest-paid soccer player that year.
His journey with the Spanish club was marked by his extraordinary success both off and on the field.
Ronaldo helped Real Madrid win four titles of the UEFA Champions League.
In July this year, the 33-year-old Portuguese departed for Serie A's Juventus and continued his glory on the field while Real Madrid struggled with defeats and controversies.
The club fired its manager Julen Lopetegui on Monday.
Ronaldo also denied theories suggesting that he left Real Madrid for a fatter pay.
Many claimed that players similar to his stature, like Lionel Messi of Barcelona and Neymar of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), were receiving more money.

"If it had all been about money, I'd have moved to China, where I would have earned five times of what I am getting here (Juventus) or at Real. I did not come to Juve for the money. I earned the same in Madrid, if not more."
After Real Madrid's big 5-1 loss to Barcelona at El Clasico on Sunday, many believe that the fired manager Lopetigui was not the only one to blame and president Perez was also responsible for letting Ronaldo leave.
Ronaldo scored a whopping 450 goals in nine seasons for the Spanish club becoming one of the world's best strikers.
Ironically, putting the ball into the net has been bothering Real Madrid for most of the time in the new season.
