China, U.S. to advance agreements reached by two leaders

Following a meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Donald Trump, the next step is for China and the U.S. to intensify consultations based on the consensus reached by the two heads of state, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Geng Shuang told reporters at a regular press conference on Monday.
He added that the two sides proposed a series of constructive proposals on how to resolve existing differences and problems.
"Efforts will be made to normalize the two countries' economic and trade relations as soon as possible and achieve win-win cooperation," he stressed.
The two leaders reached a consensus on economic and trade issues, and agreed to avoid escalating restrictive trade measures, as well as jointly charting the course for China-U.S. relations in the next stage, on the sidelines of the 13th G20 summit on Saturday.
