In 2013, China proposed the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) with the aim to build a trade and infrastructure network connecting Asia with Europe and Africa along the ancient trade routes of the Silk Road, to seek common development and prosperity.
Over the past five years, China's trade with the countries involved has exceeded 5 trillion U.S. dollars and outward direct investment has amounted to over 60 billion U.S. dollars, creating over 200,000 local jobs. The Initiative has grown from a concept to a key platform for building a community with a shared future for mankind.
In recent years, political party leaders from Egypt, Cambodia, Algeria and other countries have visited China to learn more about China and its BRI policy. The implementation of the BRI has left a deep impression on them. Check the video above to hear what they say.
