CGTN Sports Scene continues to cover Diego Maradona and his World Cup program, "By the Hand of the Ten." The Argentine legend in the latest episode of his daily program talked about second generation players, including Belgium forward Romelu Lukaku, and shared his opinion on the current crop of England players, who he thinks are better than people give them credit for.
The Argentine star also mentioned that, even though the four semifinal teams of World Cup Russia 2018 (Belgium, France, England and Croatia) are from European countries, many of their players have African origin.
With regard to Belgium, Maradona pointed out that, from the beginning he placed his bet on the Red Devils and said that they would go far. “I like (Romelu) Lukaku because I think he holds the ball well and knows how to play."
On the English, the soccer star said that "they are playing exceptionally well because they have seized the opportunity at the right time and play well as a team.” He also added that this England team has both the qualities and abilities to win the World Cup.
